What are some of the strengths and weaknesses of the animals' plan to take over?

In the book Animal Farm the animals are planning to rebel, because they don't like the way they are being treated. They think it is a smart idea, but what are they going to do without the farmer taking care of them? There are a lot of weaknesses to that plan, because it may have not been thought over very well. Now when you think of animals trying to take over it probably sounds a little insane. In Animal Farm the animals are sick of the farmer, and they want to get rid of him. Some animals say not to because of what the farmer provides for them. If they go through with their plan then they will have to feed themselves, and they might not know how to find food for themselves. They would also have to take good care of themselves and each other, because they won't have the farmer to take them to the vet if they get sick or hurt. They would also have to pick a leader, and picking a leader may make a problem for them, because they might not all agree on who their leader will be and they might start fighting and then they won't get anything done.In Animal Farm the animals say, "No animal shall kill any other animal without cause," but what if that animal wants to be leader, is that a cause? Also if they rebel, the farmer would probably just try and replace them with new animals, and they would probably get thrown out into the wild. If they get thrown out into the wild they probably wouldn't survive, because they have always lived on the farm and probably don't know how to take care of themselves. On the plus side though, if the animals go through with their plan then they won't have to worry about being treated badly. Also they would feel better about themselves, and they wouldn't have a lot to worry about. They could chose who stays and who goes, because "All animals are equal but some animals are more equal than others," they say. They would also be able to focus on more important things like family and survival, and they wouldn't have to worry about plowing or protecting the farm from evil. So if you were one of the animals in Animal Farm what would you have to say about this plan? I would say that we should just leave things the way they are. If we change things then it's probably just gonna end up badly and then our lives would be ruined forever. I would vote against. It reminds me of wars and the slaves trying to rebel against their owners,like in Haiti. Sometimes you need to think before you do something, because the impact of it may cause some bad things to happen in the future. Vote no it's the smart choice!

Power

Power is... what is power? Even though many people have different ideas of what power is, I don't. Some people say that power is when someone tells you what to do because they want to be bossy. Others say that power is what makes your television and computer be able to run. Even though those are good ideas I think that power is when you have a possession of control. You have power over what you control. Let's say that you had power over the whole world, that means that you can do whatever you want with the world because you control it. You could use your power for the best, or you could use your power for the worst. If you use it for the best, you could stop world hunger or make homes for the homeless. Not everyone chooses to use their power for the good of others though. If some people choose to use their power for the good of themselves, they build a giant house for themselves. No matter how you use power it is what it is. Even though some say that power is when someone tells you what to do because they want to be bossy, or they say that it controls your electricity that's not what power really is. Why do people like music?

Rap, metal, country, pop, and rock are some types of music that people like. No matter what kind of music it is most people like music for a lot of the same reasons. Some may say that people like music ,because it has meaning and the sound is good;however they like it mainly because it helps them escape reality.

Most people say that the reason people like music is ,because it has meaning and can make you feel different emotions. For example, if you listen to certain kinds of music they may make you want to dance while others make you want to cry. Also a lot of music has very meaningful lyrics that may help you get through a tough day. Music is played during different occasions. Like at funerals they play sad music to fit the mood. At parties they play music that may make you want to dance. So music does make you feel different emotions, but that is not the main reason that people like it.

Music helps people escape reality. It is a great way to escape the real world. Some people just get lost in the music and they forget all about problems in life. Even if you may not literally leave the real world music helps you get away for a while. If you've had a tough day at school ,and you just want to calm down and relax most people will put on some music, because it soothes you. Also it may help keep you calm. If something bad happens ,and you just want to cry you can put on some music and dance to cheer you up. Different kinds of music are used for different things but it all comes back to escaping in the end. For example; music is used at school dances to get the kids to dance. However; when the music is off reality comes back ,and hits you in the face and you realize that music made that fun. Without music you would be stuck in everyday life forever without an escape. I think everyone would go insane, if we couldn't get away for a while. Music is like a vacation. If you want to get away from work you take a vacation to somewhere fun whereas; if you want to get away from problems at home or school you can just put on some music and rock out. So, if you can't afford a fancy vacation to a faraway place just remember music is a great escape.

These are some reasons that people like music. It has meaning and emotion. Mostly it is a great escape from reality. Escaping reality through music is important because without it we would all drown in our problems of life. This is why music is very important to people and why they like it.

How The Holocaust affected everyone

Most people think that The Holocaust only affected those that were part of it. Really it affected everyone. Many people have heard about Anne Frank. The famous little girl who went into hiding when The Holocaust started and stayed in hiding for a long time. Most people have read her book called "Anne Frank's Diary: The Diary of a Young Girl." It tells her story about what she thought about The Holocaust. Many Americans were also affected during The Holocaust. In this story a girl tells about her father's experience with The Holocaust. After The Holocaust many Jews decided to immigrate to America. They left behind their culture and heritage along with many other things. The Holocaust may have mostly affected the people who were a part of it but it also affected the children of people who did survive The Holocaust. In this article it explains how the traumatization could affect the children in many ways. They could have flashbacks and could start crying. They could remember those painful weeks or days. It mainly had an affect on the children whose parents did not survive. Just imagine life without your mother or father and knowing what happened to them and how they died. Waking up in the night screaming for your mom or dad but knowing they wont come. These are just a few affects of a The Holocaust on children of those who did not survive. The Holocaust affected everyone. Jews and non-Jews were affected. So were children, and people of other countries. The whole world was affected by what happened during that painful time.

What was the Holocaust?

What was the Holocaust? "Holocaust" is a word of Greek origin meaning "sacrifice by fire." It was the killing of Jews and many others by the Nazis. The Nazis were a group formed by a man named Adolf Hitler. Adolf Hitler and his group were known as the National Socialist Party, or Nazis. The Nazis came together in 1920. Adolf rose to power and took the Nazis with him. He was not considered a nice person because if he didn't like someone he wanted them dead. He really didn't like the Jews or anybody who wasn't of Aryan race. He believed that they were all trying to take over Germany. So he ordered to have their freedom taken away little at a time. He made the Jews wear the star of David on their clothes. He took away their transportation and shut down their shops. Eventually Hitler started to take them away from their homes and put them in ghettos and concentration camps. Ghettos were where they lived with a lot of other people until they were sent away or killed. Concentration camps were places where the Nazis sent the prisoners. The prisoners had to shave their heads and traded in their names for numbers. They were built all over Europe. The prisoners were poorly fed and so they were basically just bones. Almost six million Jews were killed. That's including men, women, and children of all ages. Sometimes when we think back to those times we are glad that it wasn't us but then we realize that if that wouldn't have happened then we wouldn't have learned from the mistakes that were made. So even though the Holocaust may seem like a bad thing it is history and as painful as it may be it deserves to be remembered in anyway possible.

What is Judaism?

Judaism 101

Judaism is one of the oldest religions celebrated today. It is the religion of the Jewish people. The religion of Judaism has advanced into something new. It began as a religion of a small nation of Hebrews. It has made it through thousands of years of suffering, prosecution, and once in a while a victory. The religion of Judaism lives on today. The sign of Judaism is the Star of David (on the right). Its a monotheistic religion, which means they only worship and believe in one god.

Founder

The founder of Judaism is Abraham (on the left). He was sent by god. Judaism was found around 1300 B.C.

Adherents

There are 14 million adherents, which are followers.

Found mostly in Israel, Europe, and U.S.A.

Holy Books and Sacred texts

The Tanakh is the holy book. It contains 39 books in all. 5 books are from the Torah (picture on the right) and they are Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. The Tanakh also contains 21 books of the Prophets and 13 books of Writings. Another important text in Judaism is the Talmud, which is a collection of rabbinical writings that describe the Torah.

Religious Holidays

Religious holidays of Judaism include the Jewish New Year also known as Rosh Hashanah which is celebrated on different dates depending on the Jewish year. Another Jewish holiday is Yom Kippur ,also known as "The Day of Atonement", it is celebrated on the 10th day of Tishri, a month on the Jewish calender. Sukkot is also a holiday of Judaism known as the festival of Booths it begins of the 5th day of Yom Kippur or the 15th Tishri. Hanukkah is a major holiday for Jews that is celebrated in December with gift giving and fried foods it is also known as the festival of lights.Hanukkah is mostly known for the menorah. Tu B'Shevat is another Jewish holiday known as "A New Year for Trees" mostly celebrated at the beginning of the year. Purim is a Jewish spring festival celebrated with food, dancing, and music. Passover also known as Pesach is a spring holiday commemorating the Exodus. Shavuot is the Pentecost celebrated in the Judaism religion. All Jewish holidays begin at sundown.

Rituals and Customs

A custom in Judaism is the day of worship,or the Sabbath. It is on Saturday and Jews are not suppose to work because it is a day of rest and peace. Another custom is to worship at a synagogue, which is a house of worship. They stay true to who they are and stand for what they believe in as you can see by these songs.

Clothing

Clothing of the Jewish religion of Judaism. They wear a kittel, which is a white robe, see at left.

They have things called skull caps known as yarmulke. Women wear a cover over their head called a tichl. A shaytl is a wig that they wear. Something that observant adult male jews wear are two small leather boxes worn on the left arm and forehead known as tefillin, or phylacteries. Tallits are prayer shawls worn by Jews during weekday morning services, on the

Sabbath, and on holidays. Men are not permitted to trim their beards. Women also must have almost their whole body covered up. These are the traditional clothing of the Jewish people.

The Hierarchy

The hierarchy of the Judaism religion is the rabbi. He is also known as the spiritual leader.

To become a rabbi you have to go through schooling. You also have to be familiar with Israel and their religion.

You have to be Jewish or convert to Judaism to be a rabbi. You have to be a good speaker and a good listener.

Have a master's degree in Hebrew letters to become a rabbi. Start off small and grow to a bigger congregation.

How do fights between friends start and how to stop them? There are many ways that fights can start one of the most common ways is lying. If one friend lies to another it can make that friend angry and may start a fight between those two friends. Stay true to your friends and try not to lie. This article tells you why friends fight sometimes and things about friendship that you may have never knew. Fights can start very easily if you don't watch what you say. A lot of times fights start because of secrets. This article explains how to keep secrets and even has tips on how to keep them.
